How speedy was that? A whole year since Chris Baxter’s Baskets launched. So here we are again with the massively popular Art Week in Sherwood for its ninth year. Organised entirely by volunteers and with the support of local shops and businesses it is a fantastic feat and lasts all week.
This year I was asked to install my work in two shops; Sanita’s Flowers who must have the smallest workspace ever but manages to light up a vast area outside her shop with beautiful flowers, you may have seen the very eye catching paper flowers? Given the tiny space available I have created two mobiles in willow to hang from the ceiling. They are installed and will be in place until Sunday 2nd July.
The second shop is the Children’s Society opposite The Crimson Tree on the High Street. They have given me their display cabinet – I feel very honoured! I have filled it with Frame Baskets, the Celtic Frame Baskets are the ones I am teaching to make at The Place Activity Centre in Sherwood in July and September – book now over on my website! July booking is now closed but I am taking bookings for September.
On Monday and Tuesday of Sherwood Art Week I am leading two workshops.
On Sunday 25th June I was at the also ever popular bi ennial Park Garden Trail , situated in The Park creating funding for local charities it is a fabulous event and I am delighted to support them in their ventures.
Below are some photos of the Art in Shops installations.
